Smokey Quartz is the super-charged stone of all of the quartz family. The dreamy brown hues are created from exposure to natural radiation underground from granite deposits - giving a distinctive twist to the regular Quartz stone. Smokey Quartz is known as the national gem of Scotland, said to be sacred to the Druids. The stone has a long historical association to the Celts and celtic culture, dating back as far as colonisation in the British Isles in 300BC.
Smokey Quartz is an understated stone, but with supportive energetic qualities to remove negative and unwanted energy. This stone is believed to eleviate stress, anxiety, fear, sadness and other negative vibrations, also stabilising and grounding the beholder.
